$30 Project |
I'm Lindsay and I started to this blog in 2010 to try and pay off my credit card debt. (I finally managed it in late 2012!) I set a budget for every year. They've gone as follows: spending no more than $30 on any single clothing item, spending only a $100 per month, and budgeting $1,200 for the year that I could spend whenever I liked. I've never once broken the rules! In 2013, I have a $1,000 budget. DRESS IT UP, DRESS IT DOWN.
Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve done this feature. (Like… over a year? Yikes.) I recently became obsessed with the combo of short necklaces and high buttoned-up collars, but didn’t feel like investing a ton of money in statement jewelry. I popped into Forever 21 and picked up two necklaces for $10 a piece just to have a little fun and play around, which is exactly what I proceeded to do one weekend when I finally had some free time.
Here’s the thing about me though. I am inherently lazy when it comes to clothes. When I find a system that works, I recycle it to the death.
So these ensembles grew out of my drastic need for anything wardrobe related to be as easy as possible. They use the exact same formula (i.e. high button-up, stament collar necklace, and cover-up) with the same two basic pieces; chambray shirt and skinny jeans.
You can change the entire look and feel of your outfit without ever having to change your pants.
