$30 Project |
I'm Lindsay and I started to this blog in 2010 to try and pay off my credit card debt. (I finally managed it in late 2012!) I set a budget for every year. They've gone as follows: spending no more than $30 on any single clothing item, spending only a $100 per month, and budgeting $1,200 for the year that I could spend whenever I liked. I've never once broken the rules! In 2013, I have a $1,000 budget. Glasses: Beckett from Warby Parker received as a bday gift from mom & dad, Polka Dot Shirt: free in Rachel Red Lips give-away, Scalloped Shorts: Modcloth on sale for $16,Oxfords: Target $18, Bag: childhood gift from my great-aunt!, Ring: Banana Republic previously owned for 5 years
Can you tell I was looking through all of the fall look books yesterday? Two of my autumn staples, oxfords and specs, crept into my outfit today.
So this ensemble is just ever so slightly crazy, but I’m in love with the silhouette. Since these bloomer-like shorts have an exaggerated outline, I went for it and added a top with puffed sleeves as well. CURVES Y’ALL.
Also, I was a little worried when I cut my hair that my glasses would no longer fit my face. They now make me feel like Velma from Scooby Doo and I have to say that I am totally 100% INTO IT.
Total cost of the outfit = $34
Remaining budget for 2012 = $643
