$30 Project |
I'm Lindsay and like most freelance writers, I'm broke! In 2010, I didn't spend more than $30 on a single clothing item for the entire year. In 2011, I kept my budget to $100 per month. In 2012, I can spend $1,200 whenever and wherever I choose. Questions/Concerns can be addressed care of thirtydollarproject@gmail.com or tweet me! @30dollarproject for outfit updates and @LindsH for the various musings of my everyday life. |
Cardigan: present from Jenny, Tee: Banana Republic via the Goodwill $1, Skirt: Free People via Gilt $30, Oxfords: Target $18, Vintage 70s Purse: $50, Tights: GAP $8, Elephant Necklace: purchased 4 years ago at a boutique in LI, Bracelets: Vintage via my mom
I wanted to put together an outfit that was a little easy on the eyes, in terms of color, without relying on the sole use of neutrals like beige. I think that the soft pink of this skirt helps to blend the whole palette together and give it a bit of extra “oomph.”
A navy skirt would have worked as well, but it would have been too predictable.
Total cost of the outfit = $107
Remaining budget for 2012 = $1,131.97
