$30 Project |
I'm Lindsay and like most freelance writers, I'm broke! In 2010, I didn't spend more than $30 on a single clothing item for the entire year. In 2011, I kept my budget to $100 per month. In 2012, I can spend $1,200 whenever and wherever I choose. Chambray Shirt: Old Navy $30, Quilted Skirt: hand-me-down from my boss!, Heels: Bandalino previously owned for 4 years, Tights: GAP $9 on sale, Necklace: Modcloth $30, Clutch: MyPatternedMind on sale for $28.50
A very nice side-effect of having a personal style blog is the occasional participation that others will take in how you dress. My friends always offer first pick at their hand-me-downs and will often just give me bags of gifts.
Last week, my boss brought me some beautiful items after a closet clean-out. The quilted skirt is such a cozy garment for the colder weather and the color meshes perfectly with most of my wardrobe.
Thank you, boss lady!
Total cost of the outfit = $97.50
Remaining budget for 2012 = $1,200
