Liz Phair’s take on Lana Del Rey in the Wall Street Journal.
I’m not sure that I agree with this opinion. I think that Phair is giving Del Ray a bit more power in the construction of her image, a bit more conscious control over what she is doing, than is warranted.
But if anyone is qualified to speak about Del Ray, it’s Liz Phair.

Hi all. I really did mean to have an outfit post today, but it’s been a tough week with a lot of late nights. Some of you might not know this, but the beginning of 2011 found me back home in CT with a plan to move to Boulder, CO in the spring. I was taking phone interviews and job hunting, I was serious enough that I had given up my apartment in Queens and commuted to the city every day in order to save on rent.
